The Preparation of the City for the Arrival of Muharram Month

With the advent of Muharram month, in which Shias around the world mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, different Iranian cities, mosques and people prepare themselves to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary. This year, Muharram ceremonies and rituals will be held differently due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and health measurements will be observed and intensified in the mourning rituals.

Sari Municipality has designed the squares and streets with Muharram symbols and black flags to prepare the city for the mourning ceremonies.
